Northgate raises £302 for Save The Children
The season of good cheer is fully underway as employees at Northgate head office in Darlington donned their Christmas jumpers and raised £302 for charity Save The Children.
National Christmas Jumper Day, which took place on the 12th December, raises vital funds for Save the Children. Northgate, the market leader in flexible vehicle hire, has taken part by encouraging employees across all 73 locations and at its head office in Darlington to wear their favourite Christmas jumper to work and donate to the cause. Additional fundraising events have also been held at some branches such as Christmas bake-offs, competitions and awards for best and worst jumpers.
Liz Lawrence, Communications Manager at Northgate Vehicle Hire, commented: “National Christmas Jumper Day is a fantastic way to bring everybody together at this festive time of year. It’s great to be able to get involved with such a worthy cause and have some fun in the process. Here at Northgate we are very proud of the contribution we’ve made as a team and hope it will make a difference to children all around the world.”
Save the Children, operates in 120 countries to save children’s lives, fight for their rights and fulfil their potential. National Christmas Jumper Day has been running for three years and has raised more than £1.6 million to date. This year the UK government has pledged to match the money made by the initiative, doubling the final total.
