Students get festive with Christmas bauble designs
Westfield School for Girls recently enjoyed a fun filled day of festivities making Christmas baubles for Newcastle based GFW Letting, the urban property rental specialists.
As part of a special Christmas competition, 100 schoolgirls, aged between three and 11, were each asked to design a bauble which would be used as part of the Christmas decorations in GFW Letting’s Kenton office. Eight winners, a student from each class, were chosen by the GFW Letting team and given an art kit for their winning entry.
Stacey Hogg, Property Manager at GFW Letting, said: “It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with the students at Westfield and we’ve seen some excellent designs showcasing great talent and artistic flair. The baubles are currently taking pride of place in our front window at the Kenton Park office - bringing some festive joy to the premises and its surroundings.”
A winner was chosen from each class by Ms Hogg, Holly Armstrong, director at GFW Letting and David Wilson, the agency’s communications manager. Each student was also given a chocolate treat as a thank you for their time and effort in designing the baubles.
Susan Hann, Year 3 teacher at Westfield School in Gosforth, said: “It was nice to be approached by a local business and get the children involved in developmental activities with a festive touch. The bauble designs were brilliant and I am pleased all of them have been put on display at GFW Letting. The winners have already made good use of the art kits that they received which were very much appreciated.”
