Milburn House on Dean Street to become luxury champagne bar creating 12 jobs
A new luxury champagne bar, Glass House, is set to open at Milburn House on Dean Street after receiving the go ahead from Newcastle City Council earlier this month.
The Grade II 19th century building currently comprises office space as well as the unused ground floor and basement unit, which has been acquired by entrepreneur Mark Nigrelli.
The late night venue still maintains many original features, a statement submitted to the Newcastle City Council website notes that public spaces inside Milburn House are “beautiful” and it is all remarkably delicate and extraordinarily pretty and gives the building a consistent personality”
Glass House is the latest in a long line of bars and restaurants opening in Newcastle, the most recent of which being The Botanist on the old Monument Mall site.
The proposal is expected to create approximately 12 jobs, and is strongly supported by NE1 Ltd.
