Trainee solicitor boxes clever with prestigious appointment
An employee at hlw Keeble Hawson has been appointed as a member of the HR, Legal and Compliance Sub-Committee of the Amateur Boxing Association of England (ABAE).
Ryan Adams - a trainee solicitor in the dispute and litigation department at the firm’s Sheffield office - will work with fellow committee members to advise the ABAE on matters including safeguarding, child protection and other legal issues.
With 19,000 members across 900 affiliated clubs, the ABAE is the national governing body for amateur boxing and is responsible for the governance, development and administration of the sport in clubs and competitions.
Ryan, an accomplished sportsman prior to undertaking his legal career, which included a silver medal at the British Taekwondo Championships, said: “As someone who is passionate about boxing, I am very proud of this prominent appointment and look forward to contributing to the committee’s valuable work.”
