£325k project to improve roads around Blackburn

A £325k Highways Agency project to carry out carriageway maintenance and improvements along sections of the M65 around Blackburn in Lancashire will be delivered over the next few months.

The work will be taking place along sections of the motorway between junction 4 at Blackburn South and junction 10 at Padiham.

The improvements include renewing and refreshing carriageway whitelines, road studs and slip road lighting.

The carriageway and slip roads will benefit from thermoplastic embossed road marking.

This is a relatively new treatment which is designed to boost nighttime visibility in wet weather.

Highways Agency project manager John Lyssejko said: “This is routine repair, maintenance and improvement work and we will be doing all we can to ensure it is delivered with as little inconvenience to motorway users as possible.”
