S2S Group PASes test with 141 flying colours!

Rotherham-based data destruction and WEEE recycling solutions company, S2S Group, has successfully achieved the highly acclaimed PAS 141 accreditation, a process management specification for the re-use of used and waste electrical and electronic equipment (UEEE and WEEE).

S2S Group was independently assessed by a UKAS-accredited certification body, which audit the re-use facility and its systems, finding the standards required for PAS 141 were being met ‘exceptionally well’. Managing director at S2S, Alan Dukinfield, said “Being awarded with PAS 141 shows our total commitment to achieving excellence within the lifecycle industry and S2S are now able to boast that we are one of only two companies in the UK to have achieved the accreditation.” S2S Group offer cost effective, fully managed removal of IT Assets, ensuring 100% of the data is erased and then the Assets are either refurbished and resold, or recycled in line with the WEEE directive at S2S’s Approved Authorised Treatment Facility (AATF). Now that S2S Group have been awarded PAS 141, there is greater reinsurance of data protection standards and electrical safety of refurbished electrical products.

“PAS 141 will continue to help increase client and consumer confidence in re-use electrical products that are fit for purpose in the industry as whole, and help clients feel even more confident in using our services, PAS 141 accreditation will increase our ability to attract new business contracts, as it is an industry ‘badge of honour’ for quality and constant improvement,” added Alan. The PAS141 standard sets the bar for ensuring products leave the S2S Group facility in good working order, and fit for purpose in either the UK or overseas.

At S2S Group, all electrical products processed are uniquely identified using a unique RFID tagging system. This ensures it can be traced anywhere in the building using a series of antennas and RFID readers fitted in the warehouse, so clients can be totally confident in the security of their data.

All product is processed through the PAS141 system by trained, experienced and security cleared S2S Group staff. S2S Group’s bespoke, built for purpose databases, are able to provide customers with a fully auditable asset report at each and every stage giving full visibility of product right through the process.
