Sheffield's Horizon Care Group set for expansion thanks to £10 million RBS funding

Sheffield based care home operator, Horizon Care Group, is to focus on the development of new care facilities in the region after securing over £10 million funding in a deal with RBS.

The funding will provide the company with additional capital to support its ongoing growth strategy as well as re-financing existing loans.

Established in 2010, Horizon currently owns and manages residential and nursing care centres in South Yorkshire including Waterside Grange in Dinnington along with Wood Hill Grange and Wood Hill House in Sheffield.

The company is also expected to make an announcement in the coming months regarding the construction of new facilities in Worksop and Sheffield and a further multi-million pound funding package from RBS.

Laura Higginbottom, managing director of Horizon said: “Switching to RBS has been an excellent move for the company as their funding is enabling us to continue to focus on expansion, increasing our care services throughout the region and provide job and career opportunities.

“We established Horizon when a member of my family suffering from Alzheimer’s disease needed full time residential nursing care. We, as a family, faced the truth that we could no longer keep her safe at home but we were unhappy with the standard of facility and care offered in homes with availability in the area. It was then that we decided to build our own care centres with the aim of providing welcoming places that we would be happy for a member of our own family to live in.

“With this ethos at the heart of everything we do, the quality of our homes and the level of care we provide to our clients is of a very high standard, which is reflected by the popularity of our care centres. We hope that with the promised on-going support from RBS we can now concentrate on creating more facilities in the region to accommodate the ever increasing level of demand we are experiencing.”
