Fish and chips on menu for Huddersfield development

Planning experts Coda Planning are working with the Coalfields Regeneration Trust on a new building project for Huddersfield.

Coda Planning, the specialist planning division of award-winning Sheffield company Coda Studios, have gained planning consent from Kirklees Council for a new Harry Ramsden’s Fish and Chip Restaurant on the Spindlegate site in Leeds Road, close to the town’s football ground.

“We have been consulting closely with the Coalfields Regeneration Trust on a number of projects throughout the north aimed specifically at bringing new life to areas affected by the decline of the mining industry,” said Coda Planning Director Adam Murray.

“This Huddersfield scheme, associated with one of the region’s most popular restaurant names, will create new jobs for the town and bolster development in the area.”

The Coalfields Regeneration Trust is a registered charity that works across the former Coalfield communities of England, Wales and Scotland.

It was founded in 1999 with the aim of championing coalfield communities, generating resources to respond to their needs and deliver programmes that make a positive and lasting difference.

The Coalfields Regeneration Trust receives funding from the Department of Communities and Local Government for their work in English communities,
