Home Instead recognised as ‘Outstanding’ by CQC
Award-winning management franchise, Home Instead Senior Care, is the first national home care provider to have an office receive an Outstanding judgement in the Care Quality Commission’s new rating system for care providers across the UK.
Home Instead West Lancashire and Chorley was given the top rating by the CQC alongside just two other adult social care providers in the whole of England.
Debbie Westhead, CQC deputy chief inspector of adult social care in the north, said: “We found that people receiving care from Home Instead Senior Care West Lancashire and Chorley and their relatives were overwhelmingly positive about the quality of their care, and this view was shared by community health and social care professionals who reported excellent links with the company.
“Managers spoke passionately about the importance of holistic, person centred care that focused on the needs of the individual, and we saw that staff were committed to putting these values into practice on a day-to-day basis.”
Trevor Brocklebank, CEO and co-founder of Home Instead Senior Care, commented: “The start of 2015 brings ‘Outstanding’ news straight home to us, we are the first national home care provider to receive an Outstanding judgement in the Care Quality Commission’s new rating system…which has seen published ratings on over 300 services to date. At Home Instead, we’re incredibly proud that one of the first Outstandings has been awarded to our West Lancashire and Chorley franchise office, recognising our very personal brand of home care.”
Brocklebank continued: “I applaud the CQC’s new rating system. It places more emphasis on the person receiving the care - that means real lives are better recognised – and that has to be welcomed.
“Five pivotal questions underpin the CQC’s new approach to the inspection and regulation of our sector – Is the service: safe, effective, caring, responsive, well-led?
“At Home Instead these principles are the cornerstones of our care provision and justify why an Outstanding CQC rating is a perfect complement to our ethos.
“I believe the new ratings system recognises the difference quality care provision makes to real lives across the care landscape. That’s the lives of our clients foremost but also our care givers and care managers as well as the care professionals that we partner with - to realise our passion for excellence in care delivery on a daily basis.”
