Industrial unit project creates job opportunities for Wigan

PLANNING experts Coda Planning have been given planning permission for the creation of five trade counter industrial units in Wigan.

Coda Planning, the specialist planning division of award winning Sheffield architectural design company Coda Studios, has been working with the Coalfields Regeneration Trust on the project.

“We have been consulting closely with the Coalfields Regeneration Trust on a number of projects aimed specifically at bringing new life to areas previously affected by the decline of the mining industry,” said Coda Planning Director Adam Murray.

“This project at Manchester Road in Wigan should create employment opportunities and kick start development in an area of limited opportunity.

“Having received planning approval for the scheme, we are delighted that there has already been a huge amount of interest and we are looking forward to being on site in January.”

The Coalfields Regeneration Trust is a registered charity that works across the former Coalfield communities of England, Wales and Scotland.

It was founded in 1999 with the aim of championing coalfield communities, generate resources to respond to their needs and deliver programmes that make a positive and lasting difference.

The Coalfields Regeneration Trust receives funding from the Department of Communities and Local Government for their work in English communities.
