7th Annual Action Renewables Association Awards at Belfast Harbour Commissioner’s Office

The 7th annual Action Renewables Association Awards, sponsored by Tughans Solicitors and renewable electricity supplier Vayu, is set to take place on Friday 27th March 2014 at the historic Belfast Harbour Commissioner’s Office.

This year’s awards luncheon is planned to be the best one yet for Action Renewables, with the awards opened up to additional applicants via three new award categories.

This year’s award categories include:

• Best Energy Saving SME sponsored by SALIIS
• Most Successful Renewable Heat Installation
• Most Successful Renewable Electricity Installation sponsored by Vayu
• Best Renewables Installation within the Education, Healthcare and Public Sector
• Best Promotion of Sustainable Transport
• Best Community Renewable Energy Project
• Best Planning for Renewable Energy Project
• Outstanding Award for Work in the Renewable Energy Sector in NI sponsored by Tughans
• Most Environmentally Sustainable Construction Project

The prestigious judging panel at this year’s awards will include Andy McCrea, Managing Director, Renewables Connect; Carol Forster, Operations Manager, Northern Ireland Environment Link; Dr Stephen McKay, Senior Lecturer at the School of Planning; Architecture and Civil Engineering in Queen’s University; Geraint Ellis, Chair of Environmental Planning at Queen’s University; Jim Kitchen, Director, Sustainable NI; and Terry Waugh, Deputy Director, Action Renewables.
