Children’s creative business is booming

Business is booming for a local creative business, who has several US clients as well as just taken on 2 members of staff to cope with demand.

When Vicky Lloyd from Darlington set up her own craft company in 2009, she didnt really know of her business would be successful or not.

NEDay Crafts and Events Limited was started by Vicky, who was a full time working mum of 2 children, after spotting a gap in the market. Her company aims to encourage creativity for children of all ages away from television and computers through bespoke workshops and activities across the North East and Yorkshire.

Her company have also caught the eye of 3 American companies in the last 6 months, where they now deliver online craft workshops, live video chats and just recentlybeen asked to produce their own digital craft magazine. Nearly 6 years on, Vicky’ s business is now in so much demand, she has taken on 2 members of staff to help her with the online side of her business as well as helping her deliver workshops for events and groups.

“Its been an amazing 6 months here, although very busy, its been worth it. I am really looking forward to seeing what 2015 brings and how the business grows. Being a small business can be so demanding however its a lovely feeling seeing how far I have come in the last few years”
