Knight Frank appointed to market Broad Gate in Leeds
Northwood Investors has appointed the Leeds office of global property consultancy Knight Frank to market the landmark 300,000 sq ft Broad Gate office and retail development in the heart of Leeds.
This flagship mixed-use development comprises four floors of spectacular Grade A office space and an exclusive suite of penthouse offices, together with four prime retail units.
Eamon Fox, Partner at Knight Frank in Leeds, specialising in office agency, commented: “We are delighted to have been awarded this very prestigious instruction by Northwood Investors, the new owners of Broad Gate, who have invested in one of the finest office developments in Yorkshire.
“Such is the tremendous success of Broad Gate that only one suite of 10,814 sq ft is still available to let. This suite has only just come back on the market, as Broad Gate was previously fully let, so it is a wonderful chance to move to one of the great office buildings in Leeds.
“The excellent location, overlooking The Headrow, creates a business destination with all the benefits of the city centre on its doorstep. The transformation of this historic building offers a unique opportunity to take some of the most remarkable space in the city centre,” he explained.
Iain Taylor, Associate Director of Northwood Investors said: “We have appointed the Leeds office of Knight Frank alongside the Leeds office of Colliers to market the remaining space at Broad Gate because we were very impressed with their enthusiasm and superb track record in the city. Their experience and expertise will be invaluable as we seek to let the final office space in our flagship building.”
High-quality occupiers in Broad Gate include KPMG, Yorkshire Building Society, Cap Gemini, Colliers, PURE Offices and Environ.
Eamon Fox commented: “Roddy Morrison of Colliers and I have worked on Broad Gate previously and together we have an unrivalled knowledge of what this very special office building has to offer.”
Roddy Morrison of Colliers added: “We are already experiencing a very high level of interest in the 10,814 sq ft of quality office space, which is available at Broad Gate, as there is a shortage of Grade A office stock in the city centre”.
Broad Gate was formerly the home of Lewis’s, the first department store in Leeds, which was built in 1932, and then Allders.
