Sales up at Crawley's Pets Corner following portfolio expansion
Crawley-based Pets Corner has reported considerable growth, with two new stores opening before Christmas 2014 and with the total number of stores set to exceed 100 during 2015.
During the 2013/2015 financial year, the company successfully opened 13 new stores and margins have risen in line with expectations, a trend which continues year-on-year.
Pets Corner reported like-for-like sales in Q2 up 9.2%, rising to 15.2% in Q3; total revenue growth for the same period was 16.5% in Q2 and 24.1% in Q3.
The company saw its website grow 72% on the previous year, with four major branch refits as well as a refreshment programme for over 70 stores.
The company, which sell pets and pet accessories, interviews each potential new owner by specially trained staff to ensure that every animal’s needs will be met in their new home.
Pets Corner owner and managing director, Dean Richmond, said: “These figures speak for themselves and illustrate our strong consumer confidence, built on our commitment to animal welfare and staff training programme. This is a family business and our values keep us at the forefront of the sector”.
