Hydes open new bar, restaurant and boutique hotel in Manchester creating 40 jobs
Hydes Brewery has opened its latest pub alongside a restaurant and 15 bedroom boutique hotel, The Abel Heywood, thanks to the financial backing from banking partner, The Royal Bank of Scotland (‘RBS’).
Hydes Brewery boasts over 60 public houses across the North West and North Wales and is planning to invest further in developing the quality of its estate.
The Abel Heywood is set in the Northern Quarter of Manchester and will be under the management of Alex Alan.
The new venture creates 40 jobs locally taking the total staff employed across the Hydes Brewery estate to over 500
Managing Director of Hydes Brewery Chris Hopkins, said: “Given our success over the years and our investment in the North West, The Abel Heywood is an extension of our commitment to Manchester.
“We have developed this large island site in the Northern Quarter as a high quality city centre pub with dining rooms and boutique hotel bedrooms.
“This site has got off to a tremendous start and has attracted very positive feedback. We are confident that the Abel Heywood is a great addition to Manchester’s booming Northern Quarter and a real flagship for Hydes in the city centre.
“RBS has once again shown their support to Hydes by investing a significant finance package into the estate allowing us to fulfil our short-term aspirations.
“We are excited about the opportunities this will bring and our contribution to the local economy in terms of employment.”
