Online estate agency to save Yorkshire families thousands

Flit, a new online estate agency for Yorkshire is pledging to save residents in the county £1000’s on agency fees when they sell their homes. The Yorkshire based business has launched its new service with the aim of redefining the way people sell their properties in the area.

The business is offering house sellers the opportunity to sell their properties at a fraction of the cost of the traditional high street estate agencies and is targeting young families with its three tiered price structure.

The growing dominance of the internet in house purchases is well documented with property portals such as Rightmove & Zoopla now advertising around 90% of all estate agents properties across the UK.

Simon Routh joint founder of Flit commented, “We believe that people should have options and choices when they sell their home. Young families are a demographic which has typically been restricted by hefty fees; however the creeping dominance of portals in property transactions has indicated that people are ready for a change. The cost savings that arise from having an online business can be passed along to the customer without having to compromise on the quality.”

Flit will aim to improve the traditional estate agency model by keeping the good practices such as local knowledge and personal service whilst getting rid of the less popular aspects such as very high fees and a reluctance to embrace new methods and technology. The company hopes that less expensive fees, alongside government initiatives such as the change in stamp duty calculations will provide young people with greater choice and an opportunity to get on the housing ladder or upgrade their home.

Simon continued; “The housing market is emerging from a protracted slump following several years of economic depression. We want to provide families in local communities such as Dewsbury and Wakefield to name a few, with a high quality, tailored service but at a fraction of the cost of traditional agents.”

The website FlitYorkshire.co.uk will be the first online estate agency specifically for Yorkshire. Customers will be able to choose from three fixed low price packages, starting from £695 all inclusive of VAT, but the first 25 customers will be offered the service completely free with a subsequent 25 getting 50% off. Sellers will benefit from the same level of local knowledge and service as a local estate agent but pay significantly less.

Flit is founded by local couple Simon Routh and Angela Parrish, who have expert knowledge of the Yorkshire area and over 30 years property experience.
