Europa - Gearing up for growth
Europa Worldwide Logistics has made a major investment in its northern operation by relocating its Manchester sales office, almost doubling the size of its branch to facilitate growth.
Investing in its national branch network is a big part of Europa’s growth strategy, helping develop its presence and footprint across the UK.
The new office is a strategic investment in one of Europa’s top growth areas, giving a greater presence in Manchester and the North West of England. Greater Manchester represents the largest economic area outside London, with a population of 2.6 million and gross value added (GVA) of £54.7 billion1.
Europa was previously based at Trafford Park Village for 19 years and has now moved to the vibrant Media Village in Salford Quays, with an increased office space of 47 per cent. The Manchester office serves clients from the North West to the rest of the world, handling many large blue chip clients.
Delivering on its ambitions, Europa’s 15 Manchester staff have moved to a much improved office at one of the most dynamic commercial and creative areas in the region. The distinctive Media Village on Waterfront Quay provides 3,685 sq. ft. of commercial space in a unique waterfront destination.
Tim Doggett, Regional Director, added “This is a big step forward for our northern region that will offer our customers many long term benefits. The new much larger sales office is in an incredible location, and will allow us to facilitate further growth. It comes at a time when we aim to meet an increasing customer demand for both import and export services and the new office will improve efficiency.
“We arranged the office move out of hours during the night, to minimise disruption to the day-to-day running of the branch and completed the move at 5am! The team worked hard with everyone pulling together to demonstrate what we do so well – logistics in its purest and diverse forms.”
This is Europa’s second office investment in the region in the past three months and follows Newcastle, which helps Europa’s footprint in the UK grow. Europa has also enhanced its European road freight services, for both import and export customers across Europe.
Dionne Redpath, Branch Network & Sales Director, said “As a national operator it is vital that we have a strong sales and distribution presence in all of the key areas of the country, particularly those showing growth like the North West. It is a fantastic opportunity to enable our Manchester branch to flourish and is a significant milestone that offers benefits for Europa’s future local business development ambitions in the region. I’d like to thank the dedication from all Europa staff involved that helped make this move as seamless and efficient as possible.”
Europa offers European road freight services, air & sea and specialist warehouse facilities. The firm employs 500 people across 12 sites in the UK, plus an office in Hong Kong and is represented in 100 counties. Europa carries around 500,000 consignments annually.
Still flourishing as an independent firm, Europa has gone from strength-to-strength since it was acquired in 2013. Since then Europa has extended its services and branch network. Europa is expecting to add a number of additional European routes throughout 2015.
