Keepmoat and Strata sign £120 million Leeds housing redevelopment contract

Yorkshire housebuilders Keepmoat and Strata have jointly secured a £120 million contract for a 700 home development in Leeds suburb Seacroft.

They have been appointed as the Homes and Communities Agency’s as preferred developers for land at the Seacroft Hospital site, Leeds.

Keepmoat and Strata are set to begin construction work in late 2015.

The properties, which will be on the open market as well as available to purchase on the Government’s Help to Buy Scheme, will be a mix of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes.

Mark Knight, regional managing director for Keepmoat Homes Yorkshire said: “This momentous win for Keepmoat in West Yorkshire emphasises the strength of our house building and regeneration offerings.

“Public sector clients are confident in our ability to deliver on our plans, and we are reassured that investment in this part of the country will be beneficial to both local people, the community and the economy.”

Andrew Weaver, chief executive for Strata, said: “We are delighted to be appointed on this landmark project. We are very much looking forward now to working closely with our partners in delivering a quality housing scheme that will herald a new and exciting chapter at Seacroft.”

Naomi Beckett, area manager for the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) said: “We know that Keepmoat and Strata will do an excellent job in building not just much needed new homes but will create a new community, turning public land that is surplus to requirements into a great place for people to live.”
