Work on the £50 million ground investigation framework is expected to begin in the summer.
The contractors will now have the opportunity to bid for each of the 92 individual work packages for ground investigation work between London and Birmingham, starting in the spring.
Other contractors include:
- Bam Ritchies – a division of BAM Nuttall Ltd.,
- Environmental Scientific Group Limited
- Fugro Seacore (Trading as Fugro Engineering Services)
- Structured Soil Ltd
- Allied Exploration & Geotechnics Ltd

The framework represents the first major construction work and the first batch of contractors that HS2 has appointed.
Construction News reported that at HS2’s supply chain conference, commercial director Beth West said that there will be “specific, measureable benchmarks when it comes to choosing bids” for work, including contractors ability to use high-level BIM and offsite modular assembly.
