25th anniversary celebrations for local firm’s employee

Longevity is definitely the name of the game when it comes to retaining staff at HCS Mechanical Services in Northallerton.

Senior technician, Richard Tattersall from Skipton, North Yorkshire, has recently celebrated 25 years of employment with the company.

Many things have changed since he joined the company in 1989 as an apprentice plumbing and heating engineer, not least the uniforms and dubious hairstyles.

The company celebrated in style with champagne and cake, and Richard was presented with a Gucci watch as a mark of the company’s appreciation for all of his hard work over the years.

He says: “I can’t quite believe it’s been 25 years already. I didn’t imagine when I first joined that I would still be here all these years later, however they are a great company and I couldn’t imagine working anywhere else.”

Richard Clarke, Managing Director of HCS Mechanical said, “The success of HCS Mechanical Services rests entirely on the calibre of our employees. We are a third generation family business who values the contributions of its staff above everything else. Richard has been a valued member of the team for quarter of a century and what he doesn’t know about boilers / plumbing, isn’t worth knowing.”
