Liverpool Waters gears up for City Bike

Liverpool Waters has become home to City bike following the installation of two new 10-berth stations at Princes Dock. The first in-between the Crown Plaza and Malmaison hotels and the second in-between numbers 10 and 12 Princes Dock, give office workers and hotel guests easy access to the scheme which has quickly established itself as part of the city’s street scene.

City Bike is Liverpool City Council’s city-wide cycle hire scheme – the largest of its kind outside London – which launched in May 2014 and has grown to reach 100 stations dotted around the city.

The scheme has proved to be very popular with the most recent figures revealing almost 10,000 individual registrations in the first three months of its operation.

Liza Marco, asset manager at Peel Holdings said: “The City Bike is a great initiative and is proving to be really popular. We are very pleased to welcome the stations at Liverpool Waters and will look forward to getting to grips with the bikes as we travel around the city.”
