Huge year for the independent Cambridge chocolatier sees annual sales up 20%

Currently enjoying the busiest year in their history, Cambridge’s favourite Chocolate Shop, Chocolat Chocolat are only just recovering from unprecedented demand over the festive period. 2014 was the stores most successful year to date with sales up by 20%; their personal touch and high quality chocolate products have seen their excellent reputation grow exponentially to make this their most successful year yet. It seems both new and regular customers can’t get enough, and 2015 is set to be even bigger - especially with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, which is likely to be their busiest yet.

The consistent growth in the company, a real Cambridge success story, has seen owner and chocolatier Isabelle working around the clock to keep up with customer demand – so much so that the store needed to employ a new professional chocolatier and further staff to help with the in store and online orders.

And it’s not only online sales and in store footfall that’s made it such a huge year. As their reputation continues to spread, corporate sales are also up due to the success of their famous Chocolat courses and gifts.

The success is not just down to high quality confectionary and hard work, but from an innovative approach to the business. Chocolat Chocolat strives to offer something unique to their customers.

Within the last year alone they have launched a brand new website, on which visitors can create their own chocolate bar to be handmade and delivered to their door. With over 200,000 creations and combinations available, chocolate lovers are guaranteed a chocolate bar made to their exact specifications, and they need not even leave the house to do it.

And finally, the shop have announced they are now able to offer Cambridge residents same day delivery on orders made before 2pm. It’s all due to a partnership with fellow Cambridge innovators Outspoken (www.outspokendelivery.co.uk) who are rethinking urban logistics using bicycle couriers to deliver packages up to 250kg around the city.

Not only is this a great service for Chocolat Chocolat customers, but it also sees the growing business linking with another local company to deliver a speedier and more eco-friendly service. Now that’s a tasty combination!
