Haines Watts Liverpool sponsor four-legged friend
Liverpool accountants Haines Watts is set to welcome a four-legged friend to their team after raising £1,500 for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
‘Watts’ will join more than 20 staff members and four directors at their Victoria Street offices following twelve months of fundraising, which aimed to sponsor and name the charity’s newest recruit.
The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association provides independence and freedom to thousands of blind and partially sighted people across the UK through the provision of guide dogs, mobility and other rehabilitation services.
Director of Haines Watts Liverpool office, Des Veney said: “This was the second consecutive year that we had fundraised for the charity and we are delighted to have been able to reach this fundraising total, as it meant that we got to sponsor our very own dog.
“After much debate amongst the office, we decided to call him ’Watts’. We look forward to Watts’ visits in the future, to watch him develop from a puppy into an invaluable guide dog!“
The Engagement Officer at Guide Dogs, Penny Williams added: “It was great fun working with the fantastic staff at Haines Watts over the last two years. In raising over £2,500 in total, they have raised enough money to name a guide dog puppy, which will go on to change the life of a visually impaired person. We are really grateful to the team for all of their hard work.“
