Vernacare reaches finals of North West Business Masters
Bolton-based medical products supplier Vernacare has reached the finals of the North West Business Masters Awards.
Vernacare has been shortlisted in the large company export category - for its success in international trade with 48 countries.
The manufacturing business pioneered an innovative system of hygienic patient toileting and washing 50 years ago. Its single-use bedpans, urinals, wash bowls and other containers are made from renewable natural fibre at its Bolton factory.
These single-use products are disposed of in a hygienic, environmentally friendly way using Vernacare’s Vortex disposal machines - also manufactured in Bolton.
Recently, the company has dispatched its infection control products to Sierra Leone to help combat Ebola. The products also help reduce the threat of healthcare associated infections, such as Clostridium difficile (C.diff), MRSA, E. Coli and Norovirus.
Emma Sheldon, Global Marketing Director for Vernacare, said: “Having won two export awards last year, we are delighted to reach the finals of the North West Business Masters 2015 and to be amongst other excellent North West businesses . Our products are reducing infection risk and increasing environmental performance in hospitals across every continent. As the UK market leader, supplying more than 94% of NHS Trusts, we have an excellent reputation overseas and are seeing impressive growth in our international business.”
The Masters winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Midland Hotel in Manchester on March 12 2015.
The awards are sponsored by: law firm Gateley; Cenkos Securities; The Business Growth Hub, NCC Group and North West marketing and communications agency Influential.
