Accountants praised for "fantastic and innovative" support for York Mind
Leading Yorkshire accountants and business advisers Garbutt & Elliott have been praised for their “fantastic and innovative support” for York Mind.
Nigel Shaw, partner in charge of charities at Garbutt & Elliott, who have offices in York and Leeds, said: “With our support for York Mind and Candlelighters in Leeds, together with our pro bono work for a host of charities across the region, we estimate that our charitable work is worth more than £100,000 a year. It is an absolutely pivotal part of our corporate ethos.”
During the past 12 months Garbutt & Elliott has chosen York Mind and Candlelighters as its official charities to support.
Holly Pollard, chief fund-raiser at York Mind, commented: “York Mind has been thrilled to have had support from colleagues at Garbutt & Elliott since early 2014. The range of fundraising ideas the team have pursued have been innovative, collaborative and most of all great fun.
She added: “The support that Garbutt & Elliott have given to York Mind has been fantastic and we look forward to the next successful six months of this valuable partnership”.
Meanwhile Stephanie Jones the Corporate Fundraiser at Candlelighters said: “Candlelighters is Yorkshire’s leading Children’s Cancer Charity providing support for patients and their families across Yorkshire.
“It really is great to have Garbutt & Elliott’s continued support since 2014 and we are really thrilled to have their involvement during such an exciting time for the charity. The funds raised will be directed towards the running of a new support centre that Candlelighters is very excited to be able to offer to our families and patients later this year”,” she added.
Nigel Shaw said: “We are extremely proud of our Corporate Social Responsibility policies and initiatives, which are proving very worthwhile and bring us closer to our charity partners.”
