County Durham manufacturers fired up for 2015 growth
~~Newton Aycliffe-based fireplace manufacturers, CVO Fire, have started the year with more plans for expansion thanks to a range of new products and a number of high profile installations.
CVO has launched its first range of electric fires, due to market demand, as well as teaming up with a new, high-end outdoor fireplace manufacturer in Italy and releasing another of their own designer fires.
In addition, CVO has completed a number of new installations for well-known businesses including exclusive London restaurant, Quaglino’s in Mayfair, Greene King pubs in Dublin and various Wetherspoon’s pubs,
Managers at CVO are currently seeking new premises in central London to assist with further growth in the region where demand continues to exceed expectations.
And, in April, thanks to further investment in the business, CVO will be launching their first CE-approved balanced flue fire, designed and manufactured at their workshop.
Thanks to the demand for their range of outdoor fires, CVO Fire has now teamed up with Italian brand Sol to offer new patio heaters, adding to the current Italkero range of outdoor fires.
CVO has also developed another of its own high efficiency fires, designed and manufactured at its workshop in Newton Aycliffe. The FR920 is a hole-in-the-wall, high efficiency fire designed with the looks of a wood-burner combined with the convenience of a gas fire and offers more heat for less money.
CVO Fire, taken over by Andrew Munro and Christine Mcloughlin in 2007, recorded its best sales to date in 2014 with reported growth of 15% and is currently on track to grow sales a further 20% in 2015.
MD of CVO Fire, Andrew Munro, said: “We’ve seen consistent, solid growth in the last 12 months both in consumer and business-to-business sales. Demand in the sector is constantly evolving and we must keep up with that, hence we have now fully launched our first range of electric fires.
“Outdoor fires are also enjoying a revival- especially amongst bar and hotel owners who use their outdoor spaces to increase capacity- so we have also decided to expand our range. Our own ranges continue to thrive as well and we have plans to add to this in 2015 as we know we can offer the best quality combined with the designs our customers want.”
Since 2010, output at CVO Fires has increased by around 40%, bucking the general trend in the manufacturing sector. The company employs a team of 16 and it is hoped this number will increase with the expansion in sales and new products.
