Southport FC scores with Moore and Smalley sponsorship
Southport Football Club’s grass roots sports scheme is set to flourish after receiving support from a leading Southport accountancy firm.
Moore and Smalley, based in Hoghton Street, has pledged it’s support to the club’s Football Community Programme in a move which will help coach children as young as two.
The donation will support the delivery of health and fitness coaching, ladies football matches, work experience schemes, Baby Ballet classes and Weight Watchers meetings at the club’s Merseyrail Community Stadium.
James Treadwell, partner at Moore and Smalley and vice president at Southport FC, said: “I have had a lifelong allegiance to Southport FC so when Moore and Smalley was looking to support a local cause in Southport, sponsoring the club’s programme of community initiatives seemed like the perfect fit.
“It’s so important to support young sporting talent and you never know what community schemes like this can help achieve, it could even unearth our sports stars of the future.”
Haydn Preece, community and commercial director at Southport FC, said: “We want to ensure the club plays a central role in the community and Moore and Smalley’s support helps us deliver initiatives that do just that.”
Southport FC currently plays in the Conference Premier, the fifth tier in English football, but has aspirations to progress to Football League status.
