Greater Manchester nursery expands with £30k funding deal
Greater Manchester’s Happy Jacks Children’s Day Nursery is creating a second unit to accommodate more children following a £30k funding deal with NatWest.
Located in Littleborough the nursery caters for 40 infants to pre-school aged children. The new premises, which are next to the nursery’s current centre located in Centre Vale, Todmorden Road, will house the nursery’s pre-school aged children.
The nursery can care for 52 children in total in one day (18 pre-school and 34 under three’s), consisting of full and part time attendees, but following Government plans to extend nursery school funding to two year olds, Happy Jacks is expecting an influx of new pupils.
Manager Suzanne Dowd, said: “We are already operating at capacity so the new building gives us the space we need to care for more children. The new building enhances the services we provide.
“Working in Early Years Education is a labour of love. It’s hard work at times and constantly changing but seeing children progress and grow is inspiring.”
Happy Jacks currently employs 15 people and is looking to increase this figure based on the number of new pupils. The new building opened in January.
When the time came to acquire funding to support the extension, Suzanne turned to NatWest relationship manager Janet Wedderburn for support. Suzanne obtained a £30,000 loan to support the works.
Janet said: “I was delighted to support Happy Jacks with the expansion of the nursery. It’s a wonderful business that continues to thrive and grow, and I wish Happy Jacks all the best for the future.”
