PureGym secures unit at Greenwich's multi-million pound property development The Movement

Cathedral Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Development Securities, has signed up two new occupiers for The Movement in Greenwich.

The Movement, which is part of the £110 million transformation of the former Greenwich Industrial Estate, will now be home to a gym and a nursery.

Bright Horizons Family Solutions, a premier operator of nurseries throughout England and Scotland, and PureGym, have both exchanged contracts and will occupy units located along the new pedestrian-friendly street that connects the DLR with Norman Road in the heart of Greenwich.

Bright Horizons Family Solutions has taken a 5,000 square-foot ground floor unit and will help meet increasing demand for childcare in the local area starting in Autumn/Winter of 2015.

The new Greenwich Day Nursery and Preschool will be the second setting for Bright Horizons in the area, following the successful Teddies Greenwich Nursery.

The nursery’s director, Jeremy Clark, said, “We are delighted to be opening a new nursery in Greenwich as part of this exciting and unique mixed development. Our decision to open another nursery in the area comes following our research which highlights that Greenwich has a real shortage of childcare options available.”

Property director for PureGym, Angela Crawshaw, said; “The PureGym Greenwich Movement will provide local residents with a fully equipped gym that offers exceptional value for money at an affordable price.”

Pure Gym has begun fit-out in the 15,000 square-foot ground and first floor units at the foot of the Prime Place development.

This will be their second gym in Greenwich and is scheduled to open later this month.

There are four remaining commercial units available to let at The Movement, one 5,000 square-foot retail/commercial unit and three smaller retail/commercial units.

Richard Upton, chief executive of Cathedral, said: “It is exciting to see the vision for The Movement become a reality. The new gym and nursery are the latest in a line of high quality facilities that will now be available to local residents on their own doorsteps as a result of this regeneration scheme.”
