hlw Keeble Hawson lawyer appointed to Trustee Board
hlw Keeble Hawson partner, Rosemary Downs, has been invited to join the Board of Trustees at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in Sheffield.
Offering care and support to children with a shortened life expectancy, both in their own homes and at the hospice, the eight bedroom facility provides respite and end of life care for children, young adults and their families.
Rosemary, who specialises in the health sector, not for profit enterprises and franchising, says: “Bluebell Wood is such a hardworking and worthwhile charity to be involved with. My years of legal expertise, understanding of best business practice and extensive trustee experience with organisations such as Sheffield Hallam University and Museums Sheffield means that I can make a genuine contribution to the wonderful work that they do.”
Claire Rintoul, CEO at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice said: “We’re delighted to have Rosemary as our new trustee; she’s a welcomed addition to the board. Her focus will be to utilize her legal, commercial and governance expertise to promote the success of the hospice.”
Claire added, “Rosemary and the whole board of trustees are really focused on driving us forward as a charity in order to continue providing the very best care and support for children and families who depend on our services. They will, at times, be faced with challenging decisions but they are fully equipped with a wide range of expertise to do this.”
The hospice, one of only 43 children’s hospices in the country, provides care for families from across South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, North Nottinghamshire and parts of North Lincolnshire and offers a range of services including short respite breaks, day care provision, community support, crisis intervention and end of life treatment and care.
