Persimmon pushes forward with Ockendon development
House hunters in Essex have been given a boost after a leading builder moved forward with its plans for a second phase of development at a former car manufacturing plant.
Persimmon Homes has revealed that it has completed the purchase of an 8.8-acre site in South Ockendon, Essex.
The former Ford site has planning consent for 185 new homes, which will be a mixture of two bed apartments and two and three bed houses, along with landscaping and public open space.
The first apartments have been released and reservations are already being taken off plan, while the houses are due to be released by the end of February.
The second phase of the Arisdale Place development, in Arisdale Avenue, follows the huge success of the first phase, which was made up of 92 stunning properties and went on sale in 2013.
Norman Sharpe, sales director at Persimmon Homes Essex, said: “This is exciting news and means that we can move forward apace with the second phase of Arisdale Place.
“The first phase was a huge success and the new residents are enjoying being a part of that new community.
“The Help to Buy, Home Change and Part Exchange initiatives are all available to help house hunters in their quest for their dream new home.”
Situated in the borough of Thurrock, Arisdale Place boasts fantastic surroundings and is conveniently located between major cities in the region, making the development ideal for families, young couples or city commuters.
The properties are perfectly placed within easy reach of the M25, providing excellent transportation links to London, Kent and Essex, and train journey times from Ockendon to Fenchurch Street station in only 30 minutes.
The development has been designed to complement the surrounding area, which boasts an impressive array of activities including a lively shopping scene, leisure and entertainment centres and a range of outdoor open spaces.
