ECR Moves into Airline Sector with AirPos
ECR Retail Systems, the London-based Mobile Point of Sale (MPoS) specialist, today announced the launch of AirPoS, its retail payments system specifically designed for airline operators.
AirPoS, which uses the same sophisticated mobile payment technology as its RailPoS solution, will enable airlines to offer passengers an enhanced inflight experience and increase their income from ancillary revenues by incentivising greater onboard spending.
Using sophisticated mobile payment technology and a fully PCI compliant, lightweight all in one terminal, AirPoS offers crews greater visibility of both transactions and stock information. As a result, airlines will have the ability to identify, track and sell the most popular products on different flight routes, using touchscreen technology and detailed reporting facilities.
ECR’s successful implementation of mobile payment technology solutions for companies across the globe, includes World Duty Free and East Coast Trains. In the first year since introducing ECR’s solution, East Coast has seen a 54% rise in transactions and a 61% increase in sales.
Simon Pont, CEO, ECR Retail Systems said: “We believe that increasing passenger numbers can and should mean greater ancillary revenue. In an environment of competitive airport retailing and time-poor passengers it is more important than ever to create the best retail experience on board. Get that right and people will want more.
“Our AirPoS solution has been created to directly respond these industry developments and will enable airlines to offer a better service to passengers, gain greater transparency on in-flight sales and increase their ancillary revenue streams.”
