Growing software business Bede Gaming expands to Newcastle Great Park

Software business Bede Gaming has relocated from its base in Gosforth to significantly larger premises at Newcastle Great Park to facilitate its rapid growth.

The North East company, which has additional offices in London and Sophia, Bulgaria, has signed a 10-year lease agreement with landlord Esh Space the Park Ltd.

Under the terms of the agreement the software firm will take over the top floor of Bevan House, occupying 12,449 sq ft of state-of-the-art Grade A office accommodation.

Bede Gaming, which has grown exponentially since its inception in 2012, employs around a 120 people and recently signed a deal with the largest UK-based operator of casinos and bingo halls, Rank Group.

This deal, and other successes for the gaming platform developer, will see the company create around 75 new jobs this year and next, prompting the move to a bigger premises.

Developer Esh Space the Park Ltd appointed Durham-based law firm, Swinburne Maddison to act on its behalf to structure the transaction and draw up all the relevant documentation including the lease agreement and a Licence to Alter, allowing Bede Gaming to undertake the necessary fit-out to suit its own needs.

Commenting on the move to larger premises, Bede Gaming’s managing director Dan Smyth said: “We’ve had our eye on this building ever since it became available last year. Because of Bede’s recent growth and surge in staff numbers we’ve now outgrown our current premises and we’re ready to make the move.

“We’re spending a significant amount of capital on an extensive fit-out and refurbishment to ensure it has the wow factor by the time our staff move over there in a few months time.

“We see Great Park as the ideal location where our unique company culture can thrive - there is plenty room onsite for further expansion and therefore we hope it will be Bede’s home for many years to come.”

Delighted to be welcoming Bede Gaming to the Great Park, Michael Hogan from Esh Space said: “The offices are beginning to fill up nicely after a major tenant closed down its operation. We do however, still have space available in Bevan House whilst the second building is now full.

“These offices are in a very good location with a high quality design so, as the market improves we expect a good take up”.

The letting agent for Bevan House is Gavin Black and Partners.
