Glamping entrepreneurs open second site in Beverley with investment of over £250k

Glamping entrepreneurs and founders of the UK’s first glamping site, Jollydays, are launching their second venture, North Star Club, in the Yorkshire Wolds.

The brainchild of Carolyn & Christian Van Outersterp, the couple behind Jollydays - a glamping site that revolutionised camping in the United Kingdom eight years ago, they have invested over £250k in the new opening.

North Star Club will open in July 2015 and is set in 500 acres of woodland just 9 miles from Beverley in East Yorkshire and 19 miles from York city centre.

North Star Club’s inspiration comes from Christian’s North American roots.

Christian said: “When we set up Jollydays eight years ago, we knew we wanted to develop the concept of inviting people into the woodland to getaway from the pressures of 21st century life.

“Not everybody’s idea of a ‘holiday’ is sleeping on a foam roll out bed or cooking on a camping stove. We’ve always strived to take camping up a notch with Jollydays and North Star Club will aim to take glamping to a whole new level.”

Carolyn added: “North Star Club is going to be the perfect romantic retreat for couples looking for a unique weekend break, think British forest holidays with a difference – forget the crowds, over-used facilities and boring commercial woodland, instead we want people to discover a beautiful native forest that will grow and change with them every day.”
