Vanguard House, part of the UK’s science and innovation campus, Sci-Tech Daresbury, has secured a series of new lettings which has taken the Enterprise Zone development to 80% let.
Developed in 2011 Vanguard House is a 36,000 sq ft office and laboratory development providing high-quality accommodation for maturing businesses from both within the campus and through external lettings.
The companies taking space in the building come from a range of sectors including advanced engineering, biomedical and Digital/ICT. They are:
- Automation and engineering consultancy, Peak 42;
- IT services company, Urban IT Solutions;
- US medical regulatory writing business, Synchrogenix;
- Australian software developer, QSR International and
- Certified reference material provider, Altus Science.
In total, 6,500 sq ft of new space in Vanguard House has been let.
Two of the companies, Peak 42, and Synchrogenix, have taken space having outgrown their facilities within Sci-Tech Daresbury’s Innovation Centre building.
Urban IT Solutions and Altus Science have expanded their existing space within Vanguard House and QSR International have relocated to Vanguard House from elsewhere in the North West region.
Managing director of Langtree, the private sector partner behind Sci-Tech Daresbury John Downes, said: “We’d like to welcome our new tenants to Vanguard House.
“The strategy for this part of the development has always been to provide grown-on space for companies within The Innovation Centre and also to attract new companies from national and international markets.
“There is a vigorous and effective campaign in attracting high-tech companies to Sci-Tech Daresbury and these latest companies join at an exciting time for the wider site. 2015 promises to be an exciting and important year.”
Local Growth Minister Penny Mordaunt said: “Sci-Tech Daresbury is becoming a world-class location for high-tech business.
“Companies want to be part of that vision so I’m not surprised we’re seeing this sort of growth on a regular basis.
“It proves that we were right to back Enterprise Zones as part of our long-term economic plan. “They’re really starting to deliver for the economy, attracting billions of pounds of investment and creating thousands of jobs for hard-working people.”
