Help to Buy popular in Scunthorpe
A housing development in Scunthorpe is helping first time buyers to get their foot on the housing ladder. A massive 65% of the private purchases at Barratt Homes’ Vision@Lakeside to date have been first time buyers taking advantage of the Government’s Help to Buy scheme – proving the need for quality local housing to help buyers purchase their first property in the local community.
The statistics, released by the local house builder, have highlighted a positive upsurge in Scunthorpe residents buying for the first time, with all of the buyers living in and around the local area. The data, which has been accumulated since the launch of the development, highlights the on going need for affordable quality housing in Scunthorpe.
Michael Goodwin, Sales Manager for Barratt Homes, commented: “The need to provide quality homes at affordable prices for first time buyers has never been as important. Across the UK it is reported that the average age in which individuals are likely to be in a position to purchase their first home will shoot up to 36 , so we are working hand in hand with local communities to try and combat this problem, which is only fuelled by the current housing shortage.”
Michael continued: “Our Vision@Lakeside development is ideal for first time buyers, with a range of five star three bedroom homes on offer. We’re confident that Vision will continue to prove popular with first time buyers and are extremely pleased to be in a position to help bridge the housing gap in Scunthorpe.”
Vision@Lakeside is an exciting development in Scunthorpe, which is ideal for families and couples. The area benefits from fantastic local amenities and nearby road links to M180 and M181 motorways. For more information about Barratt Homes, please visit www.barratthomes.co.uk
