Kingston Cabinets Celebrates Birthday with Expansion News

Family-run business Kingston Cabinets will be creating more jobs for Congleton as it continues to go from strength to strength after a highly successful first year in the town.

The Greenfield Industrial Estate manufacturers first started seven years ago when the family was struggling to find the right furniture to match their needs.

Carolyn and her son Daniel Kingston joined forces and began creating beautiful, bespoke radiator cabinets. As the business took off they evolved to create a wide variety of furniture and tailor it to each individual customer and their personalised tastes.

This week Kingston Cabinets is marking one year in the 7,500sq ft Congleton premises with its 20-strong work force, nine of whom live locally, and are looking forward to many more years and increasing the number of local employees.

They have invested over £300,000 in the last year alone on cutting edge production and finishing technology and will be spending more on machinery to broaden the manufacturing capabilities.

Kingston Cabinets runs its UK wide operation from Congleton and also has bases in London, Leicester and Harrogate.

Managing director Carolyn and her co-director Daniel chose the Congleton site because they loved the town and its friendly people. They recognised it had good links and a great atmosphere.

Cementing its presence in the industry further, Kingston Cabinets will be expanding its team by offering more new jobs and another joinery apprenticeship in the coming year.

The ambitious family is thrilled to be expanding, bringing more footfall to the Cheshire market town.

Daniel said: “We are very excited to be able to grow our company in such a promising town. We will be creating more jobs for local people which is a fantastic way to celebrate our first birthday in these premises.”
