Ad agency apprentice is CEO for the day
An apprentice at Manchester independent advertising agency, Delineo, took on the role of CEO for the day as part of National Apprenticeship Week.
Social media apprentice Bonnie Robinson, 17, from Marple, took over the reins from Delineo’s CEO, Nick Melvin, and immediately put her own unique stamp on the business.
While in charge, Bonnie made a number of changes to the work environment and daily routine to help inspire creativity and collaboration.
Some of the special requirements for the day included wearing comfortable lounge wear such as slippers and dressing gowns, an office ball-pit to release stress and tension, a never-ending supply of pick ‘n’ mix and the option of an afternoon siesta.
Bonnie, who was enlisted from The Apprentice Academy’s apprenticeship programme, says:
“Being CEO has been such a valuable learning experience for me. Aside from all the fun parts, the activity has helped boost my confidence by dealing with different departments across the agency. “I’ve also realised that it’s just as important to keep everyone happy and content, as it is to produce brilliant work. It really has been an eye opener to see the amount of activity we do across all our teams.“
Nick Melvin, Delineo’s CEO says:
“It’s been rewarding to see Bonnie take up the mantle of CEO for the day. It’s obviously been a really exciting exercise for everyone involved and we’ve all enjoyed the ’unique’ working environment. We encourage personal development across all parts of the agency and am thrilled to see Bonnie shine and get so much from the overall experience.“
National Apprenticeship Week 2015 (#NAW2015) takes place from 9th to 13th March and is designed to celebrate apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the economy.
Bonnie has also been involved in a number of other activities throughout the week including an agency Twitter takeover, creating a number of topical blogs and conducting an interview with the CEO about the value of apprenticeships.
