Home Group acquires land for affordable housing development in Bradford

Keyland Developments Ltd, the property trading arm of Kelda Group and sister-company to Yorkshire Water, has agreed the sale of vacant site with residential consent at Chellow Grange Road in Bradford.

Housing provider Home Group has acquired the 3.4 acre site for the creation of 58 new affordable homes.

The site is bounded by existing homes and close to West Bradford Golf Course and Chellow Heights Water Works and Reservoir.

Community regeneration and housebuilding specialist Keepmoat is to develop 58 low rise, affordable 2 and 3 bed family homes for Home Group.

Work is expected to start on site in the Spring, with completion scheduled for 2016.

Ryan Unsworth, development manager at Keyland Developments Ltd, said; “This land sale will bring back into use a redundant site which, due to its scale and surroundings, is ideally suited to residential development.

“The agreement with Keepmoat and Home Group will provide a much-needed contribution to the affordable housing needs of the Bradford area.”

Martin Smithurst, regional managing director at Keepmoat, commented; “We are delighted to be working with our partners on this important scheme for Bradford. This development will bring much-needed new affordable homes for families in the area, and Keepmoat is very proud to be a part of it.”

Home Group, a social enterprise and a charity with a turnover of over £325m, is one of the UK’s largest providers of high quality housing and supported housing services and products.

Teresa Snaith, head of developments for Home Group’s Northern projects, added: “We’re thrilled to be in this position to make this announcement today with our delivery partners from Keyland and Keepmoat. This scheme will bring regeneration and affordable living to an area we remain fully committed to developing positive community benefits in.”
