Liverpool’s drug development company Redx Pharma invests in students
Redx Pharma, located in Liverpool and Alderley Edge, has played a key role in the development of a specialist school.
Liverpool Life Sciences UTC, based in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle, has been supported since its inception by Redx Pharma’s team of experts who specialise in the development of new drug candidates for cancer and infectious diseases.
The company is a sponsor of the school and provides students with extended work placement projects to enhance their knowledge of the life sciences sector.
CEO of Redx Pharma, Neil Murray, said: “The exposure to a range of inspiring working environments is one of the many fantastic elements of the Liverpool Life Sciences UTC curriculum.
“Ensuring that the next generation of young scientists has the requisite practical skills to thrive in the dynamic world of Life Science is a critical part of equipping them for future careers in the sector.
“Our team is working to develop novel solutions to some of the most pressing global healthcare issues facing our generation and we’re delighted to be partnering with the UTC to provide their students with real-world insights and experience.”
Principal of Liverpool Life Sciences UTC, Phil Lloyd, said: “By introducing our students to different forms of education that aren’t available in other institutions, we are equipping them with skills to encourage their future development.”
