Durham grounds maintenance and landscape company set for expansion with contract win

Beaumont Grounds Maintenance, a Durham-based grounds maintenance and landscape company, is celebrating its 50th year in business with a significant contract win.

The family-run firm has secured a contract with Mitie PFI to complete work on three local schools, after celebrating its 50th birthday this March.

The growing business will be carrying out general grounds maintenance including: regular grass cutting, hedge cutting and weed spraying throughout the growing season as well as regular sports pitch maintenance and litter picking services throughout the year.

The Education Villiage and Harrogate Hill Primary in Darlington will both benefit from Beaumont’s services, as well as Boldon Sports College.

Alex Lineton, director at Beaumont, and son of managing director Mark Lineton said: “We are delighted with the new contract but this is only the start of our recent growth initiative.

“We want to be in position to provide more job opportunities to the local community as we continue to grow.

“We plan to build a strong relationship with our new clients to cement the contracts and build further opportunities. We currently have another outstanding tender with Mitie for a further four schools in the region.”

He added: “We are building on some strong foundations that have been established over many years and we’re going from strength to strength. We will be providing some new services over the next few years that will enable us to offer an even more complete package to our customers.”

With plans to double the size of the business and to expand into Yorkshire, Mark, who took over the business from his father Steve in 1991, emphasises he wants the company to remain family-run.

He said: “When you are in your teens and early twenties, you never think about being in the business in your early fifties. You become very protective over the company as it is so much part of your life.

“I’m very proud of how far we have come and in particular the reputation we have gained for being the go-to firm in our industry with great values and a quality service.”
