Business booming at Epic

Business is booming at Liverpool-based Epic Apart Hotel after its latest figures for 2014 indicate the company has experienced a 64% like-for-like growth on the previous year.

Revenue for Epic - which currently operates two properties in the city centre on Seel and Campbell Street - during the last financial year, amounted to three quarters of a million pounds. The fledgeling business, which launched in 2012, will soon see its third development open in March 2015 and that will bring the portfolio to 35 bedrooms in the city and has plans for further developments.

Epic, co-owned by husband and wife team, Simon and Fiona Beer, has also appointed Paris D’Allessandro as general manager. A experienced hotelier, Paris has over 15 years experience in the hospitality industry, holding previous managerial roles at Days Inn Liverpool, Ramada Salford Quays, Jurys Inn Liverpool and Liverpool Marriott Hotel. In his role at Epic, Paris will oversee the running of all three Epic properties.

Simon Beer, managing director, said:

“These are exciting times for Epic, and we are heartened by these latest figures as we enter the next period of growth for the company with the opening of Duke Street. Already, interest in Duke Street has well exceeded our expectations, and we are confident that our customers will fall in love with it like they have done with Seel and Campbell street. They can expect to have the same epic experience we have become renowned for.

“Paris D’Allessandro brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise in the hospitality trade, and we wish him all the best in his new role as Epic enters the next chapter. He is definitely the man for the job.”

75 Duke Street - which is being transformed from a derelict office building into a luxury new apart-hotel thanks to an £800k investment - has attracted advanced bookings with Easter and the Grand National meeting showing full occupancy, with bookings secured as far as summer 2016. Almost half of these bookings have been for Epic’s new concept ePod - smaller rooms at 15 sq/mts, aimed at the budget corporate traveller and weekend couple looking for a spacious, quality, yet affordable place to stay.

Paris D’Allessandro, general manager, said:

“Epic is a brand I believe in, and I very much look forward to being an integral part of its evolving journey. As the latest figures indicate, it is a company experiencing rapid growth, with a very bright future ahead, and I am very excited to see where it can go next. Duke Street is going to be an amazing addition to the city’s hotel landscape, and we can’t wait for our customers to see it.”

75 Duke Street brings the company’s occupancy in the city centre to a total of 35 apartments and studios, further demonstrating Epic’s continued growth in the serviced-apartments sector. Left abandoned and in desolation since 1984, work is almost complete to develop circa 7,000sq/ft of space into 17 chic and contemporary apartments located at the heart of the vibrant RopeWalks area of Liverpool. Each apartment has been individually designed with unique decor and furniture, offering more space and home comforts that can be usually found in a city centre hotel. The Duke Street apart-hotel alone will provide 15 new jobs.
