Dragons’ Den moves to Manchester
The BBC’s popular show Dragon’s Den has moved to the new Space Project production hub in east Manchester.
The 360,000 sq. ft. location in West Gorton will be the new home for the show as the series launches with three new Dragons.
The new set has been constructed and production will start this week.
The next series will have three new Dragons - Nick Jenkins, business investor and creator of one of Britain’s leading online retailers; Touker Suleyman, a global clothing manufacturer and serial retail entrepreneur and Sarah Willingham, a global restaurant entrepreneur, serial business investor and leading consumer expert.
The three will join existing Dragons, Peter Jones and Deborah Meaden.
dock10, will provide the technical infrastructure from their Manchester based MediaCityUK facility.
It has been ten years since the doors first opened to the Den and nearly £15 million pounds worth of investment has been offered by the Dragons.
Founder of The Space Project, Susan Woodward, said: “It’s fantastic to be able to host the Dragons as they celebrate their tenth anniversary.
“It is less than 12 months since we opened this independent production facility and to date we have had all the UK’s top broadcasters on site.
“The Space Project has established itself as one of the UK’s premier locations for TV production. We hope Dragons’ Den will feel at home here and wish them well with the new series.”
The show will return to BBC Two later this year.
