Duchy Homes Ltd announces North East expansion
Leeds-based Duchy Homes, part of the GMI Group of companies, one of the UK’s construction and energy groups, has announced it is to expand its operations in the North East of England.
Aidan Hamilton, formerly of Bellway Homes, Persimmon Homes and London developers Redeham Homes, has been appointed as Managing Director of the division which will operate from offices in City Quadrant on Waterloo Square in Newcastle City Centre.
Other GMI Group companies, GMI Construction, GMI Energy and GMI Power are also to increase their presence in the region, with teams from these businesses also being established in the Newcastle office.
Aidan Hamilton, Managing Director of Duchy Homes North East said: “Duchy Homes are an experienced, customer focused, detail driven team, and a name synonymous with quality. I’m very much looking forward to bringing that same philosophy to the North East where I think it has been lacking for some time. We will focus on smaller exclusive developments and hope to offer the market something the others can’t. Duchy Homes and the GMI Group have an unrivalled CV success and it’s fantastic to be part of it.”
Jim Cropper, Group Managing Director at Duchy Homes said: “We are pleased to announce our decision to expand operations at Duchy Homes across the North East. There is great demand in the region for the development of luxury housing and the team has already begun to explore a variety of different potential sites for development. Duchy Homes has established a great reputation in the house building industry and we are looking forward to developing the business across the North.
“Aidan’s appointment is a great addition to the team and I’d like to welcome him to the company. He has worked for a variety of industry blue chip companies during the last 14/15 years and the knowledge and experience he brings with him will undoubtedly help us to get the new division off to a great start.”
