Kenilworth Show handcrafts partnership with growing brewery

Coventry and Warwickshire’s largest one-day agricultural show has handcrafted a new partnership which will ensure thousands of visitors won’t go thirsty.

The Kenilworth Show is returning to the show grounds opposite Stoneleigh Park on Saturday, June 6 and this year will feature a new bar area featuring a selection of handcrafted drinks.

Family-run business Church Farm Brewery will be supplying beers and lager brewed at its microbrewery on the outskirts of Warwick at the Kenilworth Show for the first time.

Charlie Weetman from show organisers, Kenilworth and District Agricultural Society (KADAS), said the society was delighted to have agreed a partnership with a growing local business.

“We’re really pleased the team from Church Farm Brewery will be joining us at the Kenilworth Show,” he said.

“It is hugely important to us that we form partnerships with local businesses as much as we can to share the success of the day.

“Church Farm Brewery make a fantastic selection of handcrafted beers and bringing their pop up bar to the show is a really good addition to the attractions we’ve got on offer throughout the day.

“Sampling their beer to ensure it was right for the show was one of the more arduous tasks of being show director in the run up to the big day!”

Church Farm Brewery is led by Sam Brown and Andy Reynolds, who have been brewing full-time since selling their herd of dairy cattle and converting the milking equipment into a microbrewery back in 2012.

Andy said: “We started brewing as a hobby about eight or nine years ago, and one thing led to another and it became obvious we should do it full time – we had a lot of thirsty friends!

“We’re now making about 40 barrels of beer a week and supplying bars across the area and are becoming more and more well-known.

“We like to have a presence at community events when we can, so we’re looking forward to being at the Kenilworth Show in June.”

The Kenilworth Show will host all the usual agricultural and equestrian classes and feature a wide range of homecraft competitions and trade stands, including a new food market.
