Bray-based Evergen Systems install solar panel system at Maidenhead Town Hall
Bray-based solar panel specialists, Evergen Systems, have installed a 75kWp solar PV system on the roof of Maidenhead Town Hall.
The council will take advantage of the government’s Feed-in Tariff scheme, which means that not only will it produce its own electricity in future, but it also stands to receive significant revenue over 20 years, via its energy supplier.
The council hopes to save more than £6,000 per year on energy bills after installing the new solar energy system.
The contract was won by Evergen, which recently completed the installation of rooftop solar systems on a number of schools throughout Surrey.
Evergen director, Sukhbir Sidhu, said: “We are delighted that the Royal Borough selected us to carry out the project. Installing rooftop solar on public sector buildings is particularly demanding, due to the enormous health and safety challenges involved. We are one of only a few local companies with this experience and expertise.”
Visitors to the Town Hall will be able to see the actual amount of solar electricity being generated and the reduction in carbon dioxide emissions on an electronic display in the reception area.
