Yorkshire vet named as top 20 employer
White Cross Vets in Guiseley and Roundhay has been officially recognised as one of the best places to work in the UK after the veterinary group secured a place in a prestigious list of the nation’s top employers for the third year in a row.
The family run practice was first named in The Sunday Times ‘Top 100 Best Small Companies To Work For’ league table in 2013, when it also became the first veterinary practice to ever achieve a three star ‘extraordinary’ rating in the list’s history.
White Cross Vets, which operates 13 UK practices, successfully repeated this achievement in 2014 and this year, the veterinary group sits in its highest ever position after climbing up to 19th place. The judging panel surveyed and interviewed employees from hundreds of companies about all aspects of their working lives before compiling the final table.
Tim Harrison, Managing Director of White Cross Vets, says: “We’re delighted to have achieved such an impressive position in this league table for the third consecutive year. People are the most important component in this industry by far, and by ensuring everyone in our team enjoys their work, it enables us to provide our clients and their pets with a level compassion, consideration and selflessness that continually goes above and beyond the norm.”
James Wood, Clinic Director at White Cross Vets in Roundhay, adds: “This survey delves deep into all types of employment issues including personal development opportunities, workplace wellbeing, contributions in the local community and overall opinions about the business. It’s definitely very motivating for everyone in our team to know that we work for the leading veterinary group and there’s no doubt this will continue to translate into the level of care and service that our clients receive.”
The Best Companies to Work For survey is now in its 15th year and is designed to rank the cream of Britain’s motivated workforces. It is widely recognised as the most searching and extensive research into employee engagement carried out in the UK.
