First phase of £15m Northumbrian holiday home development complete
Burgham Park Golf Club, a £15 million luxury development, is starting to take shape and it has now opened its doors to the public.
Owner William Kiely began work on the Northumberland development in August 2014 with the first phase of eight three bedroom, two storey stone built cottages getting underway.
Once completed, the 235-acre site will boast 50 four-star cottages and new pavilion, restaurant and leisure facilities. The first eight properties are now complete with only four remaining.
Mr. Kiely said: “We are very aware of our carbon footprint so have put measures in place to ensure we are doing our best to care for the environment. We have air source heat pumps for the under floor heating which will substantially reduce energy bills.
He continued: “We’ve seen an extraordinary interest in the development. The popularity seems to be the location just off the A1 along with the quality of the cottages. I’m sure the new Show Home will give prospective purchasers an insight into the special feel of the development and the beautiful surrounding countryside.
“It’s in a perfect location for golf enthusiasts but with Northumberland having so much to offer should appeal to a much wider audience.”
“The site itself offers breathtaking views of the Northumberland countryside and as is close to the golf course, clubhouse and restaurant - there’s plenty to do on your doorstep as well as exploring the Northumberland coastline and countryside.
“Once the first 50 plots have been sold, the next phase, is to start working on the two-storey pavilion which will provide homeowners with a spa, swimming pool, bars, restaurants and much more to really get you into that relaxed frame of mind. The final stage will be the creation of a world-class golf academy with teaching bays and a driving range along with other sports facilities.”
Burgham Park Golf Club has been in operation for over 20 years. The 18-hole golf course was designed by former Ryder Cup captain Mark James and has played host to several PGA North Region Championships. Northumbrian Hills will sit in the pitch and putt area between the 10th and 18th holes.
