Local Talent Storms Catwalk At North East Show
The freshest face to join the North East fashion scene took to the catwalk at Manor Walks Shopping and Leisure’s annual Spring Fashion Fix event this weekend.
Northumberland’s largest shopping and leisure destination brought the catwalk to Cramlington to showcase the latest spring trends from a host of retailers during a day of catwalk shows on Saturday 28 March 2015.
Lucky competition winner Tori Milward, 26, from Cramlington, and employee at Seven Oaks Hungry Horse, beat tough competition to be crowned the champion of Manor Walks’ model search competition.
As part of her prize Tori was the star of the show on the Spring Fashion Fix catwalk as she joined the show’s professional models dressed in collections from Manor Walks’ retailers Next, TU @ Sainsburys, George @ Asda, Pal Joey, Bon Marche, Select, Dorothy Perkins, New Look, Roman, Peacocks and JD Sports.
The competition, which ran on Manor Walks’ Facebook channel and named Tori and Chris Mason as its winners, encouraged aspiring models to strike their best model pose and share their photograph to be in with the chance of strutting their stuff on the Spring Fashion Fix catwalk.
Energetic street dance performances from Michaela Percival School of Dancing kick started the Spring Fashion Fix on Saturday. Shoppers also enjoyed the chance to win spot prizes throughout the day by posing for a selfie in association with O2.
Manor Walks Shopping and Leisure’s general manager, Bruno Coppola, said: “This year as part of our annual Spring Fashion Fix, we were keen to give the local community an opportunity to play a starring role to showcase the phenomenal talent we have right here in the North East.
“It was great to see so many of our loyal shoppers showing their support to our model search competition winner Tori.
“The event was a huge success with shoppers enjoying the exciting opportunity to discover the latest styles and trends that are coming into our stores for the spring season.”
Manor Walks’ model search competition winner Tori said: “I never in my wildest dreams thought I’d ever get an opportunity like this. The great response I received from the crowd was so overwhelming. Getting to be part of the Spring Fashion Fix has been a huge boost to my confidence.
“Manor Walks works hard to support local talent and if it wasn’t for them I would have never discovered my passion for modelling. I had so much fun on the catwalk and now I’ve had a taste of the spotlight I definitely want to carry on modelling in the future.”
