Sales Soar as Property Auction Hits New Heights
iam-sold have set a new standard for delivering above and beyond expectations at the latest West Midlands live event. The West Midlands Property Auction sold a record number of properties whose values were over £220,000 on the 18th March live event, the highest selling for £355,000. Following on from record attendance and number of properties sold in February, the West Midlands Property Auction is becoming one of the most popular property auctions in the region.
The auction which sold 75% of available properties and is hosted at the Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club, Molineux Stadium, attracted over 220 buyers to the event with some properties attracting a huge amount of attention.
A property delivered to the auction room by partner estate agent, Hunters Group, had one of the best results to date – achieving £76,000 above the original starting price of £220,000. The 5 bedroom, period mid-terraced house boasted 3 storeys, 3 reception rooms and had an ideal location on a sought after residential road.
Julian Lavender, business development manager was very pleased with the success of the third West Midlands 2015 event:
“After a great live event in February, we were expecting big things in March and we weren’t disappointed. Buyers squeezed into every inch of the venue and bidding was frenetic from the start. We had some fantastic lots from £30,000 to £575,000, and a record number of lots above £200,000. With another live event in 6 weeks, we are constantly on the lookout for new agents to join what is fast becoming one of the best live property Auctions in the West Midlands.”
But it wasn’t just properties over £220,000 that performed; a 3 bedroom bungalow in Sutton Coldfield, offered for sale through Green and Co went to the live event with a starting price of £170,000. The seller was looking to downsize and sell quickly, but didn’t want to sell the property for less than what it was worth so they were recommended to try the Modern Method of Auction. Different from the traditional auction, the modern method uses intelligent marketing techniques to generate high volumes of interest, which in this case, resulted in 46 viewings and an end result of £232,000 after just 3 weeks; £52,000 above the reserve price set by the buyer to ensure they receive a price they are happy with.
The seller of the property commented on their experience using the Modern Method of Auction:
“I thought the service was very good, I’m very impressed with it all. I found the team were very efficient and proactive throughout the whole process in keeping me up-to-date. I am delighted with the price achieved, over £50,000 more than we were expecting so couldn’t fault a thing!”
Another seller at the latest event had a great sale too, commenting:
“I found the service extremely simple, quick easy and very effective, I was kept informed at all times and at all stages of the sale and I’m very happy with the price achieved. I’m going to use the service again and have already recommended elsewhere to friends!”
